3rd - HPT came out "+" HURRY! Even though it was VERY early, I knew I was pregnant. This was on Friday, day 25 from LMP. I went to the drug store when I got off work, and got a HPT. I saw the faintest line ever. As soon I saw the line, Rahel called, I had no idea what she was telling me, I of course didn't want to tell anyone yet. I got off the phone somehow… then Yared called to tell me to get ready so we could go out. He knew there was something up because I was breathing so hard… I didn't want to tell him over the phone but I just couldn't wait for him to get home to tell him. 5th - another HPT, we had to do the test again that Sun. Again, it was still very early but it showed a darker line this time. 7th - gave blood (already 2 HPT tests conformed that I was pregnant). The nurse called me after 3 days to tell me what I already knew. Dr. visit 10th - was given progesterone, hate it! Dr. visit 15th - 5.2W U/S saw the sac only Dr. visit 21st - 6.1W U/S HB 140 17th - Went to Dallas for a wedding. We had so much fun. 24th - Went to DC. Mom made me promise not to tell anyone but I couldn't control myself. As soon as I saw Wani and Pina at the airport, I told them… they were not surprised, they already knew. The trip back was the most horrible ever. I was so sick 27th - 7W, Nausea started today, oh boy! |

Dr. visit 4th - 8.1W, arms & legs have formed and heard HB... WOW what a feeling!! Received Baby Beat in the mail & heard the HB at home 180 b/m :-). We religiously listen to the HB twice a day. It was kind of high (180) for the first few days, but it started to go down to 160 bpm. Keep gaining weight, by the 12th week; I've gained 15+ lbs. I sure hope it slows down; I'm getting fat! I started working out hopefully it'd help |

Dr. visit 2nd - HB 160 b/m Dr. visit 31st - - scheduled level II U/S for next visit, HB 160. I was at work typing away and suddenly felt something, at first I didn't realize what it was but when it happened again, I realized it was the baby moving. It was so wonderful and a little weird :-). |

9th - Went to South Padre island. It was the most relaxing weekend ever. We went around at the daytime and in the late afternoons; we went to the beach and stayed there until very late in the evening. We really rested and had such a romantic time. I've gained 28 lbs. I still look "okay" but I'm a little uncomfortable. I'm not used to having weight on me. I'm going to DC to have my baby shower (8/29). Pinaye and Wani are organizing it; it should be fun.

Dr. Adams radiologist on the 11th - 20.2W the level II went very well. Everything looked wonderful. We had to find out the sex **** IT'S A BOY**** :-) we're so happy!! We're still a little concerned with the little black dot that's on his kidney. It's called "Hydronephorosis" or "Pyelectasis". Only 4% of babies require surgery. In most cases it corrects itself. This happens when urine flow is obstructed in any of part of urinary tract. Another U/S is scheduled on the 30th week to check again. 21st - I was a bridesmaid this past weekend. Rahel got married. I was so stressed because I feel fat! But it was not that bad. My dress was so big on me though. Since I didn't try it before hand I had no choice but to wear it. It was a lovely wedding, and Rahel looked beautiful. Dr. visit 25th - had a glucose test done. The drink was not that bad, have not heard the result yet, if I don't pass this one, I'll have to take the 3 hours test. I hope I passed it…. I called them back a nd I've PASSED! Thank God I don't have to do the three hour test :-). |

3rd - I had a meeting this morning, it was a long and boring meeting ever, but Ahbey kept me up. I've never felt him move this much before. The whole two hours, he wouldn't stop! I could see my tummy jumping… 9th - It's my birthday but Yared is leaving for DC today, he'll be back on the 14th. It's going to be so hard falling asleep without him. 10th - Ordered baby's furniture from BabiesRus… very cute and very expensive wow! Dr. visit 23rd - All is well, measure 30W at 28.2W. Gained a total of 36 lbs. 26th - Another baby shower, this time in Houston. Rahel went all out. It was so much fun. |

2nd - Baby's furniture came! Yared and I had so much fun putting it all together. I can't help myself, I can't stop shopping or cleaning the room is 100% ready. I did his laundry and put it in his drawer… I even got his bathing stuff… people are telling me it's too early but I can't help it. I even go to work early so I can get off early to go shopping. The only things I've left to do it pack his bag for the hospital as well as mine. Dr. visit on the 6th - 30.2W- All is well, they did U/S so we got to see him. He's now 4 lbs! That's a little too big. He should be ~3 lbs in the 30th W. The black dot on one of his kidney has disappeared and the other one has reduced so much they're not worried anymore about it. He's no longer breached, thank God. The placenta has moved up so we're in good shape. 10th - I panicked for the first time. It was Sunday and Yared's family came for breakfast, we had a lovely morning. Hiwote and Amareshye were supposed to leave for Asmara the next day so they had to leave early to pack…. In the evening, Yared left to have coffee with Sid, I was at home watching TV and it just hit me. I was going to be a mother in less than two months! Was I really ready for that responsibility? I was so freaked for the following two days. I emailed all my sisters and of course they were so supportive as usual, they made me feel so much better… they reminded me how much I wanted this baby, and that I'd make a terrific mother. What would I ever do without them??? 14th - Baby was not moving as much as he used to even after a glass or orange juice and a slice of baklava. I couldn't sleep all night because I was so freaked out. Yared said I was over reacting. I called my Dr. first thing in the morning and she said to come in. They did a non stress test and U/S as well. I got to see him! He was sucking the whole time… he was so cute. Unfortunately Yared missed it. Baby is just fine; he was just being lazy for some reason LOL :-). Dr. visit 18th - 32W. Everything looked good except I gained 42 lbs! We're starting Lamaze class this evening. We're both looking forward to it. It's going to be for the next six weeks, on Mondays from 6:30 - 9:30. I sure hope Yard makes it on time.
28th - Wani and Pina came on Thanksgiving day at 10 in the morning. The lunch was at Asmite's it was a pleasant day. I've not felt that happy since I got pregnant. We had five glorious days. We really spent some quality time together. The only thing that bothered me was knowing that they won't be back for Christmas. I don't know how my Christmas is going to be this year… I wonder who would come; I'm hoping Taty and her kids would… |

2nd - We had a hospital tour at the Lamaze class. The nursery was empty and we were told all babies room in with the mothers now. We only saw one baby who was born a few hours prior to our visit, he was crying so hard…. I couldn't wait for the class to be over so I could go home to my sisters. 3rd - Wani and Pinaye left today. I cried when I woke up last night, I'm still very sad :-(. 4th, 34.2 weeks Dr. visit - It was uneventful. Gained a total of 46 lbs, yaks! Baby measured at 35 weeks, and estimated weight was 5 lbs & something oz. She took sample for strip B test. Checked the cervix it was high and closed, and Ahbye is head down and facing right, which is the perfect position to be for vaginal delivery. Made a two weeks appointment. Starting 36 W, it'll be weekly visit. I'm really getting there :-). 5th - Yared called and told me we had a CPR class on the 5th and we'd forgotten about it. I went straight from work but there was no class being held! I was not very happy to say the least. He mixed up the dates. 8th - We had CPR class today at 2. It was very informative, God forbid if we ever have to use it… 16th - Last Lamaze class. We're supposed to take some goodies. 18th- DR. visit, was told all is good but he's not moving that much. I insisted on a test. They did a non-stress test, and U/S and all came out okay. 19th- I'm not too comfortable because he's not moving at all. He's very active but not since yesterday. 20th- couldn't sleep so I went to work very early. When I was getting ready to leave early, they surprised me with a baby shower. Got home around 2:30 very worried.
I took off work for three months. Almost everybody came from DC to see Ahbey. There was not a week that we didn't have visitors. |
